My third trip to Malifaux saw me starting a Ressurectionists crew. I chose the Undertakers Lot boxed set for 2 reasons……. 1: I loved the Mortimer model & 2: it was only £13 from Wayland Games. I ordered some Mindless Zombies & Canine Remains along with 2 Vulture Totems. I have yet to play with this crew but have let Gordon Snellgrove use it at the club on several occasions!
During 2011 I started the wonderful game of Malifaux!! I absolutely adore this game and it’s fate card system! I began playing with an Arcanists Crew led by Ramos and then after a Tournament with that crew I decided I was ready to tackle a new force, roll on the Guild!
I had looked through the starter crew boxed sets and had been drawn in by the wonderful Death Marshal models and had seen a crew at the Tournament with an Executioner in it and loved the model so I had made my mind up and my wallet was at the till of my local games store! After a few games with the starter crew I bought the Scales of Justice, the Executioner and some Guild Austringers. This crew then went on to play in Portal Wargaming’s Wyrd West Shoot Out Tournament at Beer & Pretzels and later in the average score league! This has to be my favourite crew I own!!!
As I have mentioned I got a little side tracked on my New Years Hobby Resolution 2011 by a wonderful game called Malifaux. I began my exploration of the setting of Malifaux with the Miners & Steam Fitters Union. I loved the Ramos model and the idea of mechanical spiders made me think of one of my favourite TV Series, Stargate SG-1 and the race called the Replicators! I started with the Arcanists Ramos Crew boxed set and added some more Steampunk Arachnids so I could have individuals as well as swarms! I then added a Totem for Ramos in the form of the Brass Arachnid. After a few games I felt I was ready to try something in the place of the Steamborg Executioner and so picked up Injun Joss! I played for a while with this Crew and even went to a Malifaux Tournament with it!!
